Too beautiful

Some people seem too beautiful to us
and thus we want them, for ourselves,
to possess them, love them or discuss
how we can keep their acts on shelves:

like books with memories, with dreams -
we've all got libraries with their beauty,
which is so lovely that it almost seems
that to guard it and protect is our duty.

And in mine there's only one book now -
it is not written yet and never it will be,
because you've never learned me how;
for you seemed just too beautiful to me.
